Kathleen Haigh is the mother of twins, a boy and a girl. While her daughter is neurotypical, her son was diagnosed with autism before the age of three. Through her advocacy, her son has been included throughout school, and is currently in high school, with his sister, set to graduate in 2017. Kathleen was born and raised in central PA (Camp Hill, Mechanicsburg). In 2011 she joined the board of directors of the Autism Society Greater Harrisburg Area and has been president since 2014. She is committed to empowering parents; she has had incredible mentors along the way and is determined to pay it forward. She believes that every child with a disability has gifts to offer the world. "If I had to do it all over again, I would, considering all that I have learned and how much it changed me for the better." Kathleen graduated from Millersville University with a Bachelor's in English.
