IEP Mini Series: Beginning with the End in Mind
This free workshop for parents and educators explores the parents’ role in the IEP process. Parents will learn the basics of their child’s right to special education services, the process of developing special education plans, and the parent’s role in developing an iEP that is responsive to the goals written for their child.
You will also learn the tools necessary to work collaboratively with your school team. Discover strategies for parents and educators to build collaborative and constructive school teams committed to classrooms that welcome and support high expectations for all learners.
Lastly, we will address parental rights in the special education process. Particular emphasis will be given to the Procedural Safeguards Notice received annually by all parents. This presentation will also include a brief overview of the differences between IEPs and 504 plans.
