Parent Knowledge & Involvement in Special Education Procedure
School-Aged (Ages 5-21) Parent Support Group Meeting
At the Down Syndrome Association of Pittsburgh’s upcoming parent support group meeting, Dr. Ara Schmitt – Associate Professor and Director of the School Psychology Programs at Duquesne University, will be presenting “Parent Knowledge and Involvement in Special Education Procedures.” Dr. Schmitt will explore the re-evaluation process within the IEP, the basic IEP structure, how parents can contribute to the IEP, and much more.
This is a parent/caregiver only event. Please do not bring your children to this event, unless they are infants in carriers.
Location: UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, Plaza Building Room 307, 4401 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15224
Parking: Free parking is available in the North Garage (Staff Parking) with entrances on 44th and 45th Avenues. Pull in and press the button at the parking gate to speak to Command Center and share your name. Entrance to the hospital is on floor 7 of the garage.
No cost to attend this event, but registration is required.
