PEAL is looking for an AmeriCorps Ability Member
The PEAL Center is looking for an AmeriCorps Ability member to assist in providing supports, resources, and trainings to Pennsylvania’s underserved and unrepresented families who have students with disabilities and special health care needs. The AmeriCorps Ability member will serve the PEAL Center from January 2019 to September 2019. Information and resources will be related to Individual Education Programs (IEPs), Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Free and Appropriate Education (FAPE), transition, and best practices for families to make informed decisions for their students. Families from historically underserved communities will be empowered through shared experiences, affirmed feelings, knowledge and networking to make the best choices for their children, while leading systems change.
This position is located in PEAL’s Philadelphia office.
